The Bethlehem Education Association (BEA) is the exclusive representative of the education professionals working in the Bethlehem Area School District (BASD). We are located in the Lehigh Valley just 10 minutes west of Easton, PA/Phillipsburg, NJ. BEA is an affiliate with the Pennsylvania State (PSEA) and National Education Associations (NEA).
Our members are classroom, special education, and related arts teachers; guidance counselors, psychologists, speech therapists, and school nurses in 22 schools working with approximately 14,000 students.
BEA is the 5th largest local teachers union in the state of Pennsylvania affiliated with PSEA/NEA.
BEA advocates for its members and for strong, effective public schools. We are committed to providing a quality education for each student in the traditional setting as well as blended & on-line learning opportunities.
BEA represents the collective bargaining rights and the professional development interests of all members. We work closely with the BASD Board of School Directors, our Superintendent, local elected officials, labor union leaders and community partners to advocate for pro-public education policies and practices that benefit society as a whole.
When everyone is moving forward with the same goals, it is mutually beneficial. We are extremely appreciative of the support of many, many people and organizations in the Lehigh Valley who recognize our desire to educate the whole child and support families with children in BASD's schools.
Strong schools make strong communities. We are proud to be an integral part of the greater Bethlehem community!
Yours in education,
